In March this year, the federal government approved an additional R$152.4 million from the FDNE to maintain the pace of works. The fund is one of the main financiers of the railway and represents the Union's work in structuring projects capable of increasing regional competitiveness, reducing logistical costs and boosting the generation of jobs, income and opportunities in the Northeast.
So far, more than R$6.6 billion has been released by the FDNE for Transnordestina.
“We are going to move at an accelerated pace to complete this railway, which is fundamental in generating jobs and opportunities in the country's logistics area”, stated the Minister of Integration and Regional Development, Waldez Góes.
