A study showed that just smelling chocolate for 30 seconds before lifting heavy equipment at the gym significantly increases the number of repetitions of strength training. According to the international academic journal Frontiers in Physiology on the 9th, Professor Muhammad Nashruddin bin Naharuddin's research team from the Department of Sports and Exercise Science at the University of Malaya, Malaysia, announced the results of a study showing that participants who smelled chocolate on an empty stomach improved their strength exercise performance. The research team conducted an experiment on 23 healthy men in their early to mid-20s. The participants remained in an empty stomach for more than 10 hours before the experiment. The research team divided the participants into three groups and had them smell dark chocolate with 90% cocoa content, milk chocolate with 60% cocoa content, and odorless water for 30 seconds.
