Back in 2017, Apple began rolling out 4K content on the iTunes Store in conjunction with the launch of the first Apple TV 4K. At the time, Apple also began upgrading previously purchased movies to 4K quality at no additional charge. Now, Apple is finally extending that to TV shows and has started offering free 4K upgrades on select titles in the Apple TV app.
