Confectioner Nayara Fontana de Oliveira, 43 years old, runs Happy Cake Family, in Santos (SP), and has been working in the area for seven years. Participating in the cake slice festivals about a month ago, she stated that the initiative transformed the business routine.
"Sales, work and demand have tripled. I work to order, with weddings, 15th birthday parties, birthdays and special events. With the festival, I can reach a very significant number of people who, sometimes, don't need a whole cake, but want to eat a well-made and very tasty cupcake", he stated.
According to Nayara, the events also allow customers to try new flavors. "It ends up becoming a great opportunity to try a variety of flavors and experience a different experience. It becomes a fun and very tasty event," he added.
She pointed out that she usually tests different flavors at festivals and, in subsequent editions, keeps the most popular ones, including pudding cake and strawberry puff pastry.

💸Week-long sales in just a few hours
Confectioner Tânia Soares, 40 years old, responsible for the sweets at Café do Paulinho, in Santos (SP), has been working in the business for five years and started participating in festivals around two months ago. For her, one of the main impacts is on the speed of sales.
"The volume sold in the traditional format would normally be sold in a period of one week. At the festival, we managed to concentrate this result in a few hours. In the first edition, everything was sold in less than two hours, which was a surprise for us", he said.
According to Tânia, the most popular flavors are the classics on the menu. "Pineapple with coconut and Kinder Bueno are always the ones that finish first. They combine creaminess and flavors that are already known and highly requested by our public", he explained.

🚚 Festival delivery
Confectioner Isabelle Oliveira, 27 years old, runs Ateliê Isa Doces, in Praia Grande (SP), and opted for a different format to take advantage of the trend. Without a physical store, it joined the slice festival via delivery, allowing customers to participate in the experience without standing in line or leaving home.
"I took advantage of the hype about the slice festivals right at the beginning. I saw confectioners doing it at fairs and stores in several states and, as I don't have a physical store, I wanted to participate with something that was worthwhile for my customers. That's when the slice delivery festival came about, without leaving home and without queues", he said.

According to Isabelle, the initiative boosted sales in a weaker period for the sector and also increased demand for other confectionery products.
"On a daily basis, we don't make six large cakes in a few hours. The festival was as big as the strawberry of love, causing sales of all products to increase. The customer takes two slices of cake and takes the opportunity to take away a sweet that they already wanted to try", he stated.
