The boy from Canoas, in the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre, went viral as a baby, when his mother, Júlia Ilg, showed the little "crossfitter"'s cute exercise sequence on social media.

Today, two years after the first videos, he remains firm in his "training" routine and usually takes his adapted bar everywhere.
"All of us here at home did CrossFit, right? Then when I got pregnant with him, I stopped CrossFit. Right after I had him, three months later I came back. Then he had to go along. Because I had to breastfeed", says the mother.
Neighbor of his grandparents, who also train every day and are martial arts teachers, João grows up with physical activities included in his daily life. Mother and daughter used to go to the gym together. So, one did her training while the other took care of the child. Attentive, Joãozinho observed everything and soon began to imitate.
The beginning
The boy's "crossfiteiro" routine began when he was 11 months old. His grandmother, Daniela Martins, says that he was playing with a piece of PVC and that his grandfather had the idea of setting up a weight bar for him with a broomstick. The child loved the idea and, since then, he has had many adapted bars.
"We finished doing the 'bar' and he picked it up and made the first movement. Then he didn't stop", says Daniela.
Joãozinho doesn't go to school yet, but he is enrolled in the jiu-jitsu class where his grandparents are teachers. "Everyone helps each other, because he is a very intense child", comments Júlia.
As for the viral videos, the mother reports that she created the profile to share her daily life with her relatives: "The whole family kept asking for his videos. I created an Instagram on Thursday. I think it was the third video we posted of him, which from Thursday to Sunday had already had more than a million views. His first video has almost 400 million views."

The care
Doctor Guilherme Guaragna Filho, pediatric endocrinologist and professor at the Pediatrics Service at Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre (HCPA), explains that all physical activity that is done spontaneously by a child can be encouraged.
"The ideal physical activity is the one that the child is motivated to do. The care we have to take is with excess weight or very intense physical activity, because this can hinder growth", he highlights.
The pediatrician warns that children cannot be exposed to high-intensity activities. According to him, training such as weight training and Crossfit should only be started in adolescence, at the end of puberty.
The most recommended exercises in childhood are playful ones, such as riding a bicycle; play group sports, such as football or volleyball; and martial arts.
"It's very good for parents to encourage and set an example of physical activity, even for children and teenagers to get into this routine of doing physical activity", says the doctor.
