A ruling party committee discussing the extension route of the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Shin-Osaka has compiled a report stating that of the Obama-Kyoto route, which runs from Obama City in Fukui Prefecture via Kyoto City, the so-called Katsuragawa Plan, which passes near Katsuragawa Station on the west side of Kyoto Station, is preferable. According to estimates by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, if prices continue to rise, construction costs are expected to reach approximately 5.5 trillion yen.
