According to Vagner Mila, the incident occurred around 2pm. He said that the child fell into the space between the train and the platform and that the mother went into despair. According to the report, the father tried to remain calm and asked his daughter to cower. The train then passed, and the girl was able to be safely removed from the tracks.
The witness also stated that he tried to notify station employees, but found no one there at the time. According to Vagner, the train closed its doors and continued its journey, which generated despair among passengers.

He said that, after the incident, he looked for an employee again to ask about the accident, this time he found someone who said he had not seen the child fall. According to the witness, the employee stated that there were cameras at the station, but that there were no images of the location because it would be a blind spot.
In a statement, ViaMobilidade, the concessionaire responsible for Line 9-Esmeralda, regretted what happened and stated that it sympathized with the family.
The concessionaire reinforced the guidance for passengers to pay extra attention during boarding and disembarking, especially when accompanied by children, and highlighted that customer service and security teams must be called to provide support in situations like this.
The company also informed that "it is undergoing advanced studies to be presented to the Granting Authority to further reduce the gaps between the train and the platform."

On June 2, another similar accident, on the same line, but now at the Jurubatuba-Senac station: a woman fell in the gap between a train and the platform.
According to reports from passengers, it had fallen during disembarkation because of the large flow of people that accumulated on the platform. Images recorded at the scene show the tense moment shortly after the fall.
Close to the time of the accident, a power outage had affected train circulation. In a note, ViaMobilidade reported that, "on the afternoon of this Tuesday (2), an oscillation in the external energy supply at the Cidade Dutra substation temporarily impacted the circulation of trains in the section between Grajaú and Varginha stations, on Line 9-Esmeralda".
"Due to the incident, a train remained stopped between the Mendes–Vila Natal and Varginha stations for a few minutes, with information being issued to customers about the incident. After the restoration of the power supply and the actions of the concessionaire's teams, circulation was normalized", the statement also says.
Faced with the risk, after the woman fell, two passengers quickly descended into the gap between the train and the platform to help the victim. They managed to catch her and help her return safely to the platform before the situation escalated.
The images recorded by other passengers also show ViaMobilidade agents then working to assist and rescue the passenger.

In a note, ViaMobilidade reported that the case occurred around 5:30 pm, as the customer disembarked at Jurubatuba-Senac Station.
"The dealership team provided all assistance and forwarded it to the nearest UPA", informed the company. The concessionaire also stated that it regrets what happened and reinforced that it will continue to invest in improvements and modernizations at the stations on the lines under its management.
According to ViaMobilidade, the passenger suffered only minor injuries, received medical attention and has already been released from the Emergency Care Unit (UPA).
