What does CET say? Sought by g1, the Traffic Engineering Company (CET-Santos) informed, in a note, that possible traffic violations can only be fined when detected directly by a traffic agent during the inspection. According to the agency, the legislation does not allow the application of fines or administrative measures based solely on complaints from third parties or videos posted on social media. The CET added that it continues to carry out inspection operations on the city's cycle paths and highlighted that complaints related to aggression must be forwarded to the police authorities. The agency also clarified that circulation on cycle paths and cycle lanes depends on the vehicle's classification. Electric bicycles and self-propelled equipment can use these spaces as long as they meet the criteria set out in Resolution No. 996/2023 of the National Traffic Council (Contran).
