In China, courts overturn layoffs caused by AI adoption: companies do it anyway, but discreetly

Under Chinese law, companies must obtain government permission for any job cuts exceeding 10% of their workforce. Citibank estimated in a recent report, however, that nearly 10% of all Chinese jobs – or around 70 million – are at high risk of elimination due to artificial intelligence.
