The average number of summer vacation days for Korean companies this year was found to be 3.8 days. By company, it was common for large companies to take more than 5 days of vacation, and for small and medium-sized companies, it was common to take 3 days of vacation, so a gap appeared depending on the size of the company. According to the ‘2026 Summer Vacation Status and Economic Outlook Survey’ conducted by the Korea Employers Federation on the 12th for 674 workplaces with five or more employees across the country, 88.6% of responding companies responded that they would implement summer vacation this year. The remaining 11.4% responded that they use annual leave throughout the year without a separate intensive vacation period. The average number of vacation days for companies that implement summer vacation was 3.8 days, the same as last year. The most common answer for the number of vacation days was ‘3 days’ at 45.8%, followed by ‘more than 5 days’ (35.5%) and ‘4 days’ (10.6%). There were clear differences by company size. While 65.5% of companies with 300 or more employees responded that they provide ‘5 days or more’ vacation, the highest response of 48.5% of companies with less than 300 employees was ‘3 days’. The average number of vacation days is 4.6 and 3.7 days, respectively.
