The Civil Police of the Federal District opened an investigation this Tuesday (17) to investigate the case of the seizure of the firearm that would be owned by former president Jair Bolsonaro. In a statement sent to the Federal Supreme Court (STF), the delegate responsible for the case informed Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of the case, that the 17th police station is carrying out steps to investigate the case. >> Follow the Agência Brasil channel on WhatsApp Yesterday, Moraes gave 24 hours for the defense of the former president, who is under house arrest, to explain the origin of the firearm. The weapon was seized at 11:30 pm last Monday (15), when a Honda Civic was stopped at a roadblock in Pitão Norte, in Taguatinga. During the approach, the driver identified himself as a member of the Institutional Security Office of the Presidency of the Republic (GSI) and said that the weapon belonged to the former president. During the raid, a spare pistol magazine, a Glock 9 millimeter (mm) model, was also located. The driver was taken to a police station, where he stated that the weapon was given to him due to a breakdown. In his statement, he also reported that he removed the pistol on the 15th in order to carry out the repair and that the weapon would be returned the following day.
