The body of Maria Fernanda Cândido da Rocha, found dead after disappearing at Fazenda Vale do Paraíso, in the rural area of Doverlândia, in the west of Goiás, had no visible signs of violence, according to the delegate responsible for the case, Ramon Queiroz. The girl was located this Wednesday (17) on the banks of a river, about 2 km from the farm where her parents worked as caretakers. The result of the forensic examination will indicate the cause of death.
"On this child's body, visibly, there was no sign of violence. She had signs indicative of drowning, but this can only be confirmed through the IML examination to which she is being subjected", said the investigator in an interview with TV Anhanguera.
The child had been missing since Monday (15). Initially, the Civil Police believe that Maria Fernanda left the house alone.
The searches mobilized teams from the Civil Police, firefighters and members of the Aerial Radio Patrol Group (Graer), who worked uninterruptedly in the rural area where Maria Fernanda had last been seen. Among the equipment used were drones and a helicopter, as well as divers and sniffer dogs.
