Representative of Ritsumeikan apologizes for comment by lawmaker that “children going to the Self-Defense Forces are financially difficult”

Representative Mizuoka of the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan apologized for retracting a statement made by a member of the House of Councillors, saying, ``Children who go to the Self-Defense Forces are financially difficult,'' saying that the statement was inappropriate and insensitive to the sentiments of the members of the House of Councilors.
