Deadline for requesting reimbursement of INSS discounts ends on June 20th
Retirees and pensioners who received undue discounts related to fraud at the National Social Security Institute (INSS) have until June 20 to contest the charges.
So far, more than R$3.2 billion has been returned to 4.7 million policyholders, according to the INSS. The balance is from June 11th.
After approval of the dispute, policyholders can adhere to the reimbursement agreement and receive the corrected amounts directly into their account within three days to administratively receive the deducted amounts.
Upon closing the agreement, policyholders receive the corrected amounts in their account within three business days. According to the INSS, even after the deadline for contesting has passed, it will still be possible to adhere to the reimbursement agreement. Anyone who misses the deadline to object will not be able to join the agreement.
To be entitled to a refund of amounts deducted between March 2020 and March 2025, the insured must:
check your situation: confirm whether there were undue discounts through the Meu INSS app or website; via Central 135 or at Post Offices.
dispute the discount: inform INSS about the unauthorized charge via the Meu INSS app or website, or at post offices.
wait for the analysis: the associative entity has up to 15 working days to respond.
adhere to the agreement: if the entity does not respond or presents irregular documentation (such as a false signature), the system allows the option to adhere to receive the amount. Adherence to the reimbursement agreement can only be done via Meu INSS or at the Post Office.
For indigenous people, quilombolas and elderly people over 80 years of age, reimbursement is made automatically on the payroll, without the need for manual enrollment.

Who can join the reimbursement agreement:
Retirees and pensioners who:
They challenged undue discounts and did not receive a response from the responsible entity within 15 working days;
They received a response considered irregular, such as false signatures or audio recordings instead of valid receipts;
They suffered discounts between March 2020 and March 2025;
They have ongoing legal proceedings, as long as they have not yet received the amounts — in this case, it is necessary to withdraw the action to adhere to the agreement, which is administrative in nature.
Remember the case
An investigation by the Federal Police (PF) revealed a broad scheme of fraud and embezzlement of retirement and pension funds from the National Social Security Institute (INSS).
According to the PF, associations that offer services to retirees registered people without authorization, with false signatures, to deduct monthly payments from the benefits paid by the INSS.
The case brought down government officials, such as the Minister of Social Security and the president of the INSS. Furthermore, an INSS CMPI was opened to investigate the case.
