PRF seizes more than 11 thousand ammunition and arrests man on BR-230, in Balsa Disclosure/ PRF The Federal Highway Police (PRF) seized more than 11 thousand ammunition and materials used for reloading during an inspection carried out this Tuesday afternoon (16), on BR-230, in Balsas, in the south of Maranhão. The police stopped a truck for a routine inspection and identified evidence that prompted a more detailed inspection. Therefore, the vehicle was taken to the PRF Operational Unit in Balsas. During the inspection of the cargo compartment, agents found 11,520 ammunition of different calibers. 19,000 fuses and 1,600 cases used to reload ammunition were also seized. According to the PRF, there were 2,940 .38 caliber ammunition, 2,960 .32 caliber ammunition and 5,620 .22 caliber ammunition. Additionally, officers found 600 .32 caliber, 250 .28 caliber and 750 .36 caliber casings. When questioned, the driver informed that he received the truck already loaded in Imperatriz and that he should deliver the material to a gas station in São João dos Patos. The man was arrested in the act and taken to the Civil Police Station for the appropriate procedures.
