The Attorney General's Office (AGU) reported this Monday (15) that it signed an agreement to guarantee the inauguration of candidate Flávia Henriques Goes de Medeiros (in the center of the photo) in the position of official in the Chancellery of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).  Flávia Medeiros passed the written tests, but was barred by the hetero-identification committee from competing for vacancies allocated to the racial quota system. According to the panel, the candidate "has fair skin, fine features and straight hair", with characteristics that are incompatible with the vacancies.  Related news: Uerj will have an observatory to monitor quota policy. The agreement still needs to be approved by the Court and aims to end the legal dispute involving the decision of the commission for the 2024 Itamaraty competition, promoted by Cebraspe.  After being blocked, the candidate went to court and obtained an injunction, in the first instance, to take office. However, the decision was overturned by the second instance and she was dismissed from her position.  According to today's agreement, Flávia will be appointed to the position. In return, she agreed to waive any compensation, salaries and other benefits prior to the new appointment.  When signing the agreement, the Union's attorney general, Jorge Messias, defended a “deep reflection” on the role of hetero-identification boards.  "This legacy will remain so that injustices no longer occur. The State cannot commit to error", he stated.
