At the time, in a statement to the police, Cláudia said that she had taken her father and his partner to spend a few days in Canoas. She also said that she left the house to go to a health unit and that, when she returned, she would not have found the couple again. He said he saw his grandfather and his partner falling asleep on the sofa at the house in Cachoeirinha and that the bodies had been removed from the scene by Cláudia.
