The Civil Police indicted a 38-year-old man for the femicide of a young woman, shot dead after being chased and fleeing into a workshop, in Santa Efigênia de Minas, in the Rio Doce Valley. The conclusion of the investigation was released this Monday (15). According to the investigation, the man, the victim's former partner, did not accept the end of the relationship.
According to the police, he started chasing the young woman and, on the day of the crime, he located her and fired a firearm. The man was arrested in the act a few hours later, in Governador Valadares. The weapon used was located, seized and examined.

Throughout the investigation, statements were made, analysis of images from security cameras, information gathering and expert examinations were carried out. According to the corporation, the set of evidence made it possible to clarify the dynamics and motivation of the crime.
The investigation was forwarded to the Judiciary and the Public Ministry, which must continue the case.

The feminicide took place on the morning of June 2, when the victim, Elisiane Gomes de Andrade, was shot dead inside a workshop in Santa Efigênia de Minas. Images from security cameras recorded the moment when the young woman ran down a city street and entered the place, being followed by the author.
Soon after, the man entered the workshop and fired shots. According to the Military Police, there were four shots. After the crime, he fled the city in a rented car, heading towards Governador Valadares.
Police teams set up a siege on BR-259 and managed to approach the man in the Capim neighborhood. According to the police, he did not resist and confirmed his responsibility for the crime. The weapon used was later found buried. He was arrested and taken to the police station, where the case began to be investigated.
