The Fire Department was called at 8:59 am to the incident. According to witnesses, the aircraft collided in the air and fell into a yard full of cars parked in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in the Southwest Zone.
The helicopter carrying Oliver, Gaspi and the producers, a Eurocopter AS 350 B2, a model known as Esquilo, exploded when it hit the ground. The flames spread to the electric vehicles, which caused more explosions. The plume of smoke could be seen from miles away.
The other, a Bell 206B, did not catch fire and fell with its landing gear in the air. The pilot died trapped in the wreckage.
The land belonged to an abandoned church and had been leased by the car manufacturer BYD. The space occupies the block of Avenida das Américas with Beth Lago and Rivadávia Campos streets.
Which aircraft were involved in the accident?
The aircraft were a Eurocopter AS 350 B2 and Bell Helicopter 206B.
According to records from the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac), the Eurocopter was manufactured in 2012. Known in Brazil as Esquilo, the model is among the most used helicopters in the country for activities ranging from executive transport to public security, rescue and air support operations.
The aircraft had the capacity to carry up to five passengers, in addition to the pilot.
The Bell 206B was manufactured in 1999. Quite popular in civil operations around the world, the model is mainly used for passenger transport, tourist flights, pilot training and private air services.
According to records from the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac), the aircraft had the capacity to carry up to four passengers, in addition to the pilot.

The fire was concentrated in the one rented by BYD in the block on Avenida das Américas and Beth Lago and Rivadávia Campos streets.

Authorities in Rio de Janeiro released early this Sunday afternoon the names of the 6 victims of the collision and crash of 2 helicopters in Recreio dos Bandeirantes.
The victims are:

Alexandre Souza, pilot of the aircraft;
Gaspar Prim, known as Gaspi, Argentine YouTuber;
Lucas Brito Chaves, known as Lucas Frota, Brazilian music producer;
Lucas Vignale, Argentine music video director;
Nickel Oliver Tree, American singer and producer.

Is there any line of investigation into the cause of the accident?
Until the conclusion of this report, there are still no details about what caused the accident between the two helicopters.
What do the airline authorities say?
In an official note, the FAB said that the investigation will be carried out by the Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center (Cenipa).
Anac (National Civil Aviation Agency) stated that it is investigating the situation of the aircraft and pilots involved in the case.

During the initial action, qualified and accredited professionals apply specific techniques for collecting and confirming data, preserving elements, initial verification of damage caused to the aircraft or by the aircraft, in addition to gathering other information necessary for the investigation.”

Investigations into the causes, in turn, will be conducted by the Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center (Cenipa).
Anac regrets what happened, sympathizes with the families and friends of the victims and reiterates to all passengers on so-called general aviation flights to check the situation of companies and aircraft before boarding. This check can be done on the Voe Seguro platform. The Agency also highlights that the illegal transport of passengers is a crime and puts lives at risk."

The mid-air collision of two aircraft, as occurred between two helicopters in Rio de Janeiro this Sunday, is a very rare accident in Brazilian aviation — show data from Cenipa, the Brazilian authority responsible for investigating air disasters.
There have been five accidents since 2016 out of a total of 1,625 aviation accidents. Two of them were in 2016, one in 2018, one in 2019 and two this year, including the accident in Rio de Janeiro.
Who owned the helicopters?
The PR-DJJ helicopter, which only had pilot Charles Marsillac, is owned by Mauricio da Cunha e Silva Espindola Dias. The information is from Anac.
The owner of the PP-MAC helicopter was Oswaldo de Luca Filho. He was already fined by Anac in July 2025 because he allegedly refused to show books, accounting documents, information or statistics to inspection agents.
The agents considered that, as it was the first notification, the fine applied was at a minimum level of R$8,000.
The report attempted to contact Oswaldo de Luca Filho's defense. The name of the aircraft owner is not on the list of victims identified in the accident.
