The 20th edition of the Taquaruçu Gastronomic Festival (FGT) has been confirmed and will have singer Seu Jorge as its first national musical attraction. The event takes place between the 3rd and 7th of September, in Taquaruçu, district of Palmas, in the central region of the state, and will feature a gastronomic competition, cultural and artistic programming.
Palmas City Hall announced that the gastronomic competition will distribute R$156,000 in prizes among the participating categories. Registration remains open until July 17th, through the official FGT website.

This year's festival brings as a novelty the inclusion of the “Regional Drinks” category in the gastronomic competition. 55 places will be offered, distributed between the Gastronomic Circuit and Gastronomic Route modalities. The categories were organized in the following format:
Savory dishes;
Sweet dishes;
Dinners;
Functional food;
food trucks;
Regional drinks.

The notice includes a portion of exclusive quotas for people residing in Taquaruçu. Vacancies not filled by applicants will be allocated to open competition.
Only registrations from individuals will be accepted for the Gastronomic Circuit modality; The Gastronomic Route is intended exclusively for legal entities with establishments in Taquaruçu or Taquaruçu Grande.
According to the notice, the dishes entered must be new to the festival and must contain at least one regional ingredient in each creation. In the quest to value unique and authentic flavors, the notice suggests, among others, the following ingredients:
Pineapple;
Jabuticaba;
Pequi;
Babassu;
Cashew;
Cupuaçu;
Chambari;
Buriti;
Baru;
Cassava;
Fish from the region

Competition and Awards
The approval of registrations will be published on July 21st. The tasting and technical evaluation phase of the dishes will take place between July 27th and August 4th. The final result with the selected participants will be announced on August 24th.
Those selected for the competition must participate in the mandatory courses in Personal Hygiene, Food Handling and Entrepreneurship.

1st place: R$ 12 thousand;
2nd place: R$8 thousand;
3rd place: R$ 5 thousand;
1st place in regional drinks: R$ 3 thousand;
2nd place in regional drinks: R$ 2 thousand;
3rd place in regional drinks: R$ 1 thousand.
