Witnesses reported to the Military Police that the student was thrown without a safety rope and fell from a height of 40 meters. A police helicopter was called to the rescue, but the young woman died at the scene. The police arrested three people responsible for the Maria Eduarda jump. According to the delegate who initially registered the case, they were charged with homicide with possible intent, when someone takes the risk of causing the death of another person. "It's a team there that didn't have any regulations, wasn't even authorized to be there. They ended up doing this event. And this fatality ended up happening today due, in my opinion, to a failure here to not check and monitor the placement of the rope on the victim's jump", said delegate Andréa Dantas. In a statement, the defense of the three prisoners said that they have experience in the activity and that this was the first fatality in years of operation.
