The public who visits the village will be able to see dozens of films divided into four categories. Mostra Amazonas focuses on Latin American feature films, while Mostra Tapajós shows productions from Pará focused exclusively on youth experiences in the region.
The festival also opens up space for new talents with the Arapiuns Exhibition, aimed at experimental works and first works by young directors. Children and young people have guaranteed and adapted programming at the CineAlterzinho space.
The winners of the festival's eight competitive categories will be awarded the Muiraquitã Trophy. The figurine, which is an ancestral Amazonian symbol made by artists from the region, represents resistance, memory and connection between people.

The event's general coordinator, Rafael Ribeiro, highlighted the impact of public incentive policies, such as the Paulo Gustavo Law, to make productions viable. "There are many quality productions, many important approaches to our identity, for us to recognize who we are as Amazonian, Brazilian and Latin citizens. It is with great joy that we deliver our beloved CineAlter", stated the director.
Opening in Santarém
Before heading to Alter do Chão, the festival had its opening night on Friday (12), transforming the Santarém waterfront into an open-air cinema. The program began with a performance by the Symphony Orchestra and the indigenous ritual "Dabacuri", conducted by the Borari people.
The premiere featured the screening of the documentary "Insurgencias", which addresses the colonization of highways in the Amazon, and the award-winning film "Refúgio", which portrays the resistance of the quilombo Cachoeira Porteira, in Oriximiná.
The quilombola community co-executed the script and was represented by leader Rubens Cordeiro, who spoke to the public after the session. The closing of the first night, filled with the atmosphere of Valentine's Day, was a cheesy romantic show with singer Eduardo do Norte.
