The start of winter is scheduled for June 21st, but the low temperatures are already prompting judges to take coats and blankets out of their wardrobes. As the season approaches, many people need appropriate clothing to withstand the cold in the city.
As in previous years, companies and institutions in Juiz de Fora started campaigns to collect pants, blouses, socks, caps, shoes, blankets and other items. Check below where and how to help

Juiz de Fora City Hall
In 2026, the city hall will hold another edition of the “Juiz de Fora Solidária no Frio” campaign, which seeks to collect blankets, caps, socks and gloves to help people in situations of social vulnerability.
The initiative is scheduled to last until September 30th. All material collected will be donated to institutions that are part of the Citizenship Table.
Check out the collection points:
PJF headquarters building – Avenida Brasil, 2001, Centro, from 8am to 6pm;
Casa da Mulher – Avenida Garibaldi Campinhos, 169, Vitorino Braga neighborhood, from 7:30 am to 5 pm;
Special Secretariat for Racial Equality – corner of Rua Halfeld and Avenida Rio Branco, from 8am to 6pm;
Aquabox – Rua Ângelo Falci, 100, Centro (under the Augusto Franco Viaduct), from 9am to 6pm.
Helping Hand Institution
The Mão Amiga Beneficent Society also receives donations. The institution collects blankets, blankets, warm clothing (adults and children), socks and liters of whole milk.
The materials must be in good condition and can be delivered to the institution's headquarters, at Avenida Darcy Vargas, 87, in the Ipiranga neighborhood.
It is also possible to request the items to be picked up at the donor's residence, by prior appointment by calling (32) 99183-2956.
Independence Shopping
Independência Shopping collects warm clothes and blankets until June 15th. The collection point is on the L1 floor, in front of the Centauro store.
The items collected will be sent to partner social institutions that work directly with people in vulnerable situations in the region surrounding the shopping mall.
Society of Saint Vincent de Paul
The Vincentian missionary action of the Central Council of Santo Antônio collects blankets, caps, blouses, pants and socks for the homeless population.
Items can be delivered to the headquarters of the Central Council of Santo Antônio, located at Avenida Brasil, 2,500, in the Vitorino Braga neighborhood.
Metropolitan Cathedral
The Juiz de Fora Metropolitan Cathedral carries out the "Wrap up a Homeless Person" campaign to collect blankets, warm clothes and socks. Check delivery locations and times:
Cathedral Cave - Every Friday, at 6pm;
Capela do Santíssimo - Every Sunday, at 8am;
Cathedral Secretariat - The faithful need to inform that the donation is for the campaign
