The case was investigated by the Special Group for the Suppression of Property Crimes (GePatri) of Itumbiara, in the south of the state. According to the corporation, the man contacted the police stating that he was staying at a hotel in the city when he went out in the early hours of the morning to eat and was approached by two suspects on a motorcycle. Still according to the delegate, the images showed that the man left the hotel and returned minutes later claiming to have been the victim of a robbery. During the investigation, the police also discovered that the transfers were made to an account linked to the betting platform used by the person being investigated. “We confirmed that he made a transfer from his own account to an account linked to these betting houses that only receives value through a specific login with the account holder's CPF”, explained the delegate. According to Irineu Junior, a Detailed Occurrence Statement (TCO) was registered for the crime of false reporting of a crime. “He confessed that he had actually spent that money and simulated the crime,” said the police chief. The case must be referred to the Judiciary.
