The investigations began when a 53-year-old victim negotiated with one of the suspects to purchase land for R$50,000. Initially, the victim paid R$35,000 and agreed to hand over the rest of the amount in the next few days.
In the following days, she went to the land and began cleaning the place, but was approached by another person, who identified herself as the real owner.
Suspecting the situation, the victim called the Civil Police, who went to the place where the victim agreed to deliver the missing R$15,000 to "purchase" the land. Upon seeing the police team at the scene, the suspects fled.
"The police had to shoot the tire for the vehicle to stop and, even so, they continued at high speed. The police asked for support from other security forces here in the city and teams from other units promptly came to support. This chase lasted a few minutes, putting several people in the city at risk", detailed the police chief.
The corporation seized cell phones and the vehicle used by the criminals. Two of the suspects were arrested for criminal association, embezzlement, disobedience and dangerous driving. The third fled.
Investigations continue to locate the amounts transferred by the victims.
