DISCLOSURE/Detran RJ
Detran RJ informed that, starting this Saturday (13), the parking maneuver in an area with markers will no longer be charged in practical driving tests taken by candidates for their first license throughout the State of Rio de Janeiro.
According to the department, the elimination of the marker is an adjustment to Resolution No. 1,020/2025 of the National Traffic Council (Contran).
At the moment, this will be the only change in procedures in the practical driving test. "Detran RJ is promoting adjustments to the Resolution in stages, which reinforces its commitment to the reliability and transparency of the first license process, and guarantees greater control in all phases of the service and a safer process for drivers", said the agency, in a statement.

Also according to Detran RJ, as the department uses tablets to transmit the results of practical tests online and adopts facial recognition of candidates — replacing biometrics —, the adaptation process is more complex and requires a longer period of time.
Starting this Saturday, the instructor must position the vehicle next to an isolated marker, which will remain in the space previously allocated for the marker examination, serving as a reference for the start of the test. From this point, the candidate must begin the previously established route. Nothing changes on the route or the location currently used for the end of the exam.
"Detran RJ reaffirms its commitment to agility, transparency and care for the population of Rio de Janeiro, adopting solutions so that candidates have an agile, efficient and bureaucracy-free qualification process", he added.
