A 17-year-old teenager was arrested by the Civil Police of Maranhão, on the afternoon of Wednesday (10), in Açailândia, in the Tocantina region, on suspicion of involvement in three homicides recorded in the municipality between February and May 2026. According to investigations, he was the person carrying out the crimes, which were related to territorial disputes between criminal groups.
The seizure took place during the execution of a provisional hospitalization warrant coordinated by the Homicide and Personal Protection Police Station (DHPP) of Açailândia. According to the police, the teenager is the main suspect of killing three people in different incidents recorded this year.

One of the cases investigated is the homicide of Gabriel da Silva Barbosa, known as "Piolho". The crime took place on February 26, on the premises of the Praça da Cultura Indoor Gymnasium, at Residencial Tropical.
The teenager is also being investigated for the death of André Viana da Silva. The victim was shot on February 28, near Prainha do Jacu, in the Jacu neighborhood. André was rescued and taken to the Municipal Hospital of Açailândia (HMA), but he did not survive his injuries.

The third case attributed to the teenager is the murder of Josué Amaral, known as "Zequinha". The crime occurred on May 7, on one of the benches in Praça da Cultura, also located in Residencial Tropical.
According to DHPP, investigations indicate that the teenager is part of a criminal organization with national operations. The police claim that the three homicides were linked to conflicts between criminal groups over territorial disputes.
While executing the warrant, police found a firearm on the teenager. According to the investigation, the weapon may have been used in at least one of the homicides investigated.
After the procedures at the police station, the teenager will be taken to a unit of the Children and Adolescents Foundation (Funac), where he will be available to the courts.
