In a statement, the municipal administration highlighted that it does not condone conduct contrary to the duties of the public service and that it will adopt the appropriate measures after the investigations are concluded. The Executive also asked for caution to avoid "prejudgments" before the end of the official process. "The Municipal Administration reaffirms its commitment to legality, ethics, administrative morality and transparency in the conduct of matters of public interest, not condoning any conduct that is dissociated from the duties inherent to the public service, as well as in this sense, in respect for the investigation work and the legal guarantees of all those involved, it is essential that the disclosure of information preserves the presumption of innocence, avoiding pre-judgments and hasty conclusions that could mislead public opinion before the completion of official investigations." It also states that all applicable measures will be adopted after completion of the investigation, based on the elements actually proven, in compliance with current legislation. The city hall, however, did not clarify whether the employee will be removed from his duties during the investigation.
