The infraction was recorded by cameras from the Fortaleza Integrated Videomonitoring Center (CIVFor). See the video above. The images show a white passenger car arriving at a plot of land close to the banks of the Cocó River, while dragging, using a rope attached to the vehicle, a large amount of pruning waste. According to the City Code (Complementary Law No. 270/2019), the infraction is classified as serious, subject to the imposition of a fine and seizure of the vehicle used. According to the City Hall, in 2026 alone, 812 fines were already issued for irregular disposal of solid waste based on images captured by the cameras of the municipal video monitoring system in Fortaleza.
