A 24-year-old man was arrested for stealing after being caught driving a stolen car on Sunday night (7), in the Sopotó neighborhood, in Iguaba Grande, in the Lakes Region of Rio.
According to the Military Police, the action began after information was shared between monitoring teams and investigation sectors. During patrol, agents located a car suspected of being cloned.
Upon noticing the vehicles approaching, the driver tried to flee, but was caught and approached on Avenida Iguabela. During the inspection, the police checked the vehicle's identifying signs and found that the car was stolen.

The driver was initially taken to the Iguaba Grande police station and then taken to the Araruama police station, where he remained arrested for the crime of receiving possession.
In addition to the recovered car, police seized a second vehicle related to the incident and R$290 in cash.
According to the Military Police, the recovery of the car was the result of integration between the intelligence, monitoring and overt policing sectors, which worked together to locate the vehicle and identify the suspect.
