The case happened on Friday (5). In an interview with TV TEM, motorcyclist Gabriel Santos said that the cables were attached to a tree and ended up getting tangled up in him and his motorcycle as he passed through the area. As a result, he lost control of the vehicle and fell onto the road. "As soon as I passed, I felt something hitting my helmet, but I thought it was an insect. When I continued with the bike, I heard a dragging noise and felt the bike pulling me to the side. Despite the scare, he was not injured, but highlighted the risk of the situation. "I'm fine, nothing happened. If I had been faster, I don't know what could have happened," he said. In a statement, Companhia Paulista de Força e Luz (CPFL) informed that the cables involved in the accident were not electrical energy, but telecommunications, and did not belong to the concessionaire. The company said, however, that it sent a team to the site to eliminate the risk. CPFL will also notify the responsible operators so that they can regularize the situation. Botucatu City Hall reported that Civil Defense carries out constant inspections and maintains direct communication with the companies that use the poles. According to the municipality, reports about loose wires can be made through official Civil Defense and utility channels.
