To g1, Carol said that she learned that the 43-year-old passenger, who will not be identified in the report, was alive on May 4th, when she was boarding back to São Paulo. According to her, an airline worker recognized her and told her that the patient would be discharged from the ICU.

Since the day of the emergency, the doctor reports that she wanted to know what the outcome of the case had been. After receiving the news from the worker, she managed to contact the family through the patient's husband, who sent an email thanking her for the service.
"I was so happy. I hugged my friend and cried with emotion. What moved me most was knowing that she was alive, well and taking care of her health", recalls Carolina.
The passenger's husband and the doctor exchanged phone numbers and, days later, Carolina contacted the patient for a video call, made precisely on Mother's Day. Recovered, conscious and with her family, according to Carolina, the passenger was talking normally.
"It was very special to see that woman there talking to me, a sense of accomplishment hit me hard. It was a relief. She is the mother of a 6-year-old child and a 15-year-old teenager. I have worked with mothers since they found out they were going to be mothers. Knowing that that woman was also a mother showed that it was not just a life recovered, but that of a family", celebrates the doctor.
During the call, the patient thanked her for the help she received and shared details about her hospitalization period. According to Carolina, she reported that the doctors responsible for the treatment highlighted the importance of quick care, even at the airport, for recovery without neurological sequelae.
"She thanked me for taking the initiative to help her, for staying by her side throughout the process and for not giving up on her. She said that she owes her life to me. This was very impactful because it's a lot for someone to say that they owe their life to you. I just did what I had to do."

Carolina was traveling to celebrate a friend's birthday and watch Shakira's concert when she heard screams for help. As soon as she realized the seriousness of the situation, the doctor went towards the passenger who was unconscious in the seat. When checking the woman's vital signs, he noticed that she had no pulse and began emergency procedures. As the plane was practically landing, Carolina decided, together with the flight attendants, to place the patient in the space between the seats to begin cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers.
Other health professionals who were also on the flight started to help. While a nurse and Carolina took turns performing cardiac compressions, another doctor performed mouth-to-mouth ventilation.
The team got a defibrillator and started electric shocks. After four shocks and 20 minutes of resuscitation, the passenger had a pulse again.
