'What are you?': PM colonel arrested after swearing and disrespecting municipal guards
The reserve colonel of the Military Police (PM) of Minas Gerais José Eufrasio Barreto was arrested in the early hours of this Sunday (7) for contempt and disobedience towards municipal guards in Hortolândia (SP), in addition to damaging a corporation vehicle.
A video from one of the guards' body cameras recorded the moment the colonel shouted and questioned the guards' authority (see above). g1 was trying to locate the colonel's defense until this publication.
Barreto previously headed the 16th Independent Military Police Company of Minas Gerais, in Três Corações, before retiring. According to the transparency portal, he is inactive and received a net salary of R$38,000 in April this year.

According to the police report, the colonel was approached because the guards suspected violence against his wife. Surveillance cameras captured a disturbance between him and his wife inside the couple's truck.
The guards reported that the woman had tried to get out of the moving vehicle and he pulled her abruptly.
'Who are you?'
When the guards arrived, the colonel passed by shouting and refusing to comply with their requests. "Identify myself to whom? Who are you to identify me?", he says.
One of the guards asked why the colonel was upset. The PM responded harshly with an expletive and once again questioned the authority of the municipal security agents.
"What are you guys on the agenda? You guys kick pigeons in the square, man."
At another point, Barreto punched the guard's vehicle, which left the hood dented.
Barreto also tried to leave the place with the truck, but was stopped by security agents and, shouting, demanded that the guards contact the PM colonel or even the mayor.
Arrest in the act
The guards called a Military Police (PM) team, but the reserve colonel continued without obeying orders, according to the incident report. Afterwards, he was taken to the police station, where the deputy on duty, Diego Bini, ordered his arrest for the three crimes.
Barreto was placed in a separate cell at the Sumaré Police Station. The colonel was not taken to the Romão Gomes Military Prison, in the state capital, because it does not receive military personnel from other states of the Federation.
g1 sought out the State Court of Justice (TJ-SP) to find out whether the colonel remained in prison or was released after a custody hearing, but did not receive a response until this publication.
