It was confirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs canceled the final acceptance of Ms. Sim, the daughter of former Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung, after determining that she did not meet the qualifications for the recruitment of a public service researcher at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He requested disciplinary action from the Central Disciplinary Committee for those involved in the hiring process, and explained that disciplinary procedures are currently in progress. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 17th, “In accordance with relevant laws and procedures, after deliberation by the Recruitment Inspection Committee, we canceled the final acceptance of those who did not meet the announced application qualifications and notified the parties of this fact on May 29.” The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that it attempted to contact the person by phone twice, but was unable to connect, so it also notified them of the cancellation of admission via email. In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “We have requested the Central Disciplinary Committee to decide on disciplinary action against those involved,” and added, “As the disciplinary decision process is currently in progress and the final disposition has not been confirmed, it is difficult to say about the reason, level, and results of the disciplinary action.” Mr. Sim's experience and degree requirements prior to obtaining a master's degree were recognized during the 2025 recruitment process for public service researchers at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
