The U.S. Department of Justice issued a subpoena to four New York Times (NYT) reporters who wrote an article raising suspicions about security concerns about President Donald Trump's new private plane (Air Force One), requesting their appearance before a federal grand jury. President Trump also expressed his conflict with the media by repeatedly posting on Truth Social disparaging major US media outlets, including the NYT. On the 11th, the NYT announced that its reporters had received a subpoena from the US Department of Justice the day before, demanding that their reporters appear before a federal grand jury on the 15th. The NYT reported that some reporters received subpoenas from federal agents at their homes, and that the reason was 'alleged violation of federal criminal law' without specific details. Previously, on the 9th, the NYT reported that President Trump left Türkiye Ankara, where the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit was held, on an older Air Force One instead of the latest Air Force One for security reasons. In relation to this, NYT pointed out that the new Air Force One aircraft gifted by Qatar lacks some advanced security equipment compared to the existing Air Force One. NYT also reported this day.
