Samsung Electronics posted an operating profit of 89.4 trillion won in the second quarter of this year (April to June), setting a new record for the highest quarterly operating profit among private companies around the world. It surpassed the previous record set by Nvidia, the artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor company with the largest market capitalization in the world. Among all companies that announced their performance this year, it ranks first in the world. This figure reflects approximately 17 to 19 trillion won in provisions for paying employee performance bonuses, and the actual second quarter profit before excluding performance bonuses is estimated to have exceeded at least 106 trillion won. Samsung Electronics announced on the 7th that it had provisional sales of 171 trillion won and operating profit of 89.4 trillion won on a consolidated basis in the second quarter of this year. Compared to the same period last year, sales increased by 129.31% and operating profit increased by 1810.26%. Compared to the previous quarter, sales increased by 27.74% and operating profit increased by 56.21%. This amount exceeds even Nvidia's highest ever quarterly operating profit ($53.5 billion, approximately KRW 81.75 trillion from February to April of this year). Even if the scope is expanded to include state-owned enterprises, Samsung Electronics' quarterly performance
