Officials of a Tokyo equipment company are sent to prosecutors for bribery of Cambodian public officials

According to interviews with investigators, executives of a Tokyo-based equipment construction company have been referred to prosecutors on suspicion of violating the Unfair Competition Prevention Act, which prohibits bribing foreign public officials, for allegedly handing over 110,000 yen worth of cash to a local public official in order to expedite the registration process for the sale of a subsidiary in Cambodia.
