A man in his 60s was sentenced to a fine for assaulting a police officer who responded to a report of drunken disorderly conduct. Changwon District Court Criminal Division 2 Chief Judge Jeong Ji-eun announced on the 29th that he had sentenced Mr. A, who was indicted on charges of obstruction of official duties, to a fine of 5 million won. Mr. A was arrested by police officer B who was dispatched after receiving a report that ‘a drunk person kept trying to jump into the roadway’ at a bus stop in front of an apartment in Gimhae-si, Gyeongsangnam-do in February. He was indicted on charges of swearing and assaulting Mr. B. At the time, he refused Mr. B's request to return home, swearing, saying things like "Put your cheeks up," and assaulting Mr. B by strongly pinching one of his arms with his hand.
