It has been reported that Apple, which has been unable to withstand the ‘chip inflation (semiconductor + inflation)’ caused by artificial intelligence (AI) and has raised product prices significantly, is now pursuing the purchase of Chinese memory that is blacklisted by the US government. Concerns are growing that the global memory supply shortage could be an opportunity for the Chinese memory industry to expand its size. ● Apple is turning its attention to China On the 26th (local time), Britain's Financial Times (FT) reported that Apple is lobbying the U.S. government to approve the purchase of memory chips from China's Changxin Memory Technology (CXMT). CXMT is a company included in the U.S. ‘Blacklist of Chinese Military Companies (1260H).’ The U.S. Department of Defense included CXMT on this list because of its ties to the People's Liberation Army of China. Although the blacklist is not legally binding, U.S. companies may face reputational problems if they do business with Chinese companies on the list. Accordingly, the FT reported that it appears that they are attempting to import it after obtaining official approval from the US government. Another US award
