As two additional Korean ships stranded in the Strait of Hormuz escaped due to the Middle East war between the United States and Iran, the number of Korean ships remaining in the strait decreased to three as of the 28th. Considering that there were 26 Korean ships waiting in the strait at the time of the March strait blockade, most of the ships escaped the strait. There are 43 Korean sailors on board in the strait, including 13 on Korean ships and 30 on foreign ships. On this day, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries announced, “Currently, all ships operated by our shipping company that were scheduled to transit have left the strait.” All Korean ships, except those with special circumstances, left the strait. It has been four months since we were stranded in the strait due to the war in the Middle East. While ships from around the world are continuing to escape the Strait of Hormuz after the US and Iran agreed to a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 17th, the Korean ship is assessed to have escaped the strait relatively quickly. According to the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, one of the remaining ships in the strait was hit early last month and is currently in Dubai.
