As the Kakao labor union was unable to reach an agreement in negotiations with management over the performance-based compensation system, a ‘log out day’ will be held on the 29th as originally announced. This is the second collective action following the half-day strike on the 10th. According to the Kakao Labor Union on the 28th, union members from five corporations, including Kakao, Kakao Pay, Kakao Enterprise, DK Techin, and XL Games, will participate in Logout Day on the 29th. Union members plan to use their annual leave or off time the previous day to stop working for a day and log out of the company's work system. There are approximately 2,500 union members at Kakao's headquarters, and including affiliates, the number of participants is estimated to be up to 3,000. However, the actual number of participants is expected to be confirmed on the day of the strike. The union said, “We plan to proceed with a complete log-out without any separate rallies or offline actions on the day,” and added, “We are not planning to announce a separate position.” Kakao's labor and management have been unable to narrow down their differences for more than two months over the scale of performance bonus payments. The union accounts for approximately 1% of operating profits.
