The body of a man who drowned in a lagoon in São João da Ponte was located by the Fire Department this Wednesday (17).
According to information from the corporation, on Tuesday night (16), soldiers from the Januária platoon were called to a possible drowning in the community of Olhos D’Água.

Family members reported that the 22-year-old man had left home to monitor asphalt work on a road near his residence. Relatives were suspicious of his delay in returning.

During searches carried out by family members, a hat and the young man's cell phone were found on the banks of the lake. There was also a bottle of water floating and signs that he had entered the place, reinforcing the suspicion of drowning.
On the day of the incident, the Fire Department was at the scene to collect information and plan the searches, which began at dawn this Wednesday.
According to the corporation, after 35 minutes of searching, the victim's body was found three meters underground.
The military called in the Civil Police, who determined that the body be taken to the Legal Medical Center of Januária.
