The use of fireworks during June festivals should be avoided by the population, according to a recommendation issued by the Public Ministry of Amapá (MP). The measure was published after recording several incidents related to the use of this type of artifact in the first days of June.
The measure seeks to protect people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), the elderly and animals, who suffer from the effects of noise.

According to the MP, loud noises cause noise pollution and can generate attacks of anxiety, fear and disorientation. Domestic animals and urban fauna also suffer, reacting with panic and stress.
In Macapá, municipal and state laws prohibit the burning and use of noisy fireworks. Law No. 2443, of April 2021, prohibits pyrotechnic devices with intense sound. Fines can reach R$50,000.
