Registration for the National Residency Exam (Enare) 2026/2027 has been open since this Monday (15), exclusively on the exam page on the Fundação Getúlio Vargas portal, the board organizing the selection process. Medical students interested in medical residency in specialties with direct access can register until 11:59 pm on June 29, Brasília time. The registration period for medical residencies that require prerequisites, additional years of training and area of ​​activity and for registrations for residency in uni- and multi-professional health areas will be between June 15th and July 15th. Enare aims to democratize access to medical residency and optimize the occupation of places in medical residency.  Who can participate To participate in the Enare 2026/2027 selection process, interested candidates must meet mandatory requirements: . have completed an undergraduate degree in medicine or are in the last semester, as long as the graduation takes place, at the latest, by the start date of the PRM Medical Residency Program); . be first enrolled in the 2026 National Medical Training Assessment Exam (Enamed), organized by the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep). The Ministry of Education (MEC) informs that candidates who do not reach the “Proficient” performance level in Enamed 2026 will be automatically eliminated from Enare 2026/2027. Registration To enroll in Enare in the direct access medical residency modalities, area of activity and multi-professional health area, initially, the candidate must fill in the Individual Taxpayer Registration Number (CPF) on the Enare page and other data such as identification documents, place of birth, address and contact information. When registering, the candidate must upload a 3X4 photo of their face in JPEG or JPG format, with a maximum size of up to 5MB. Registration fee and exemption requests The registration fee will be R$330 for all Direct Access specialties of the medical residency. For other residency programs in the health professional field, the registration fee was set at R$220. The invoice must be paid by July 6th. Rede HU Brasil, coordinator of Enare, informs that registrations will only be made after proof of payment of the registration fee. Fee exemption requests Candidates can request exemption from the registration fee at the time of registration only between the 15th and 23:59 of June 19th.  The participant must fit into the following situations below: ·  have a monthly family income of up to 3 minimum wages or an individual income of up to two minimum wages; ·  be registered in the federal government's Single Registry of Social Programs (CadÚnico); the registration fee is greater than 30% of your monthly salary and the person has no dependents. the registration fee is greater than 20% of your monthly salary and you have up to two dependents; The registration fee is greater than 10% of your monthly salary and you have more than two dependents; Regardless of the reason for the exemption, the candidate must declare in the application form that: did not pay for the preparatory course for this residency with his own resources. is a graduate of a public higher education institution or has been the beneficiary of an official scholarship. The Enare notice warns that sending the documents does not guarantee automatic exemption. The request will be analyzed and validated by the FGV panel. Available vacancies In 2025, this event registered more than 138 thousand applicants and the offer of more than 12 thousand places for medical residency distributed across 225 participating institutions, including hospitals, university foundations and institutes. Evidence With nationwide coverage, Enare will have tests administered in 60 Brazilian cities, on September 13th. The stage corresponding to the Enare 2026/2027 objective test will be composed exclusively of the final grade obtained by the candidate in the Enamed test, according to the Item Response Theory (TRI), as defined by Inep. Enamed Since the 2025 edition, Enare has been integrated into the National Medical Training Assessment Exam (Enamed), carried out by the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep), in partnership with Rede HU Brasil, the former Brazilian Hospital Services Company (Ebserh). Through the partnership, the Enamed result can be used in Enare for direct access medical specialties. Enamed is mandatory for students completing medical courses. Doctors who graduated in previous years can also register with Enamed, if they are interested in using their Enamed results in Enare for direct access medical specialties. Registration for Enamed 2026 is now open exclusively on the Enamed System. Grades obtained in previous editions of Enamed can be used as long as the candidate has reached a performance level classified as “Proficient”, based exclusively on Item Response Theory (IRT), applied by Inep. The methodology allows evaluating the candidates' performance considering the level of difficulty of the questions and the standard of the answers.
