A mother reported to the police that her 14-year-old daughter had two broken ribs and head injuries after being attacked by students at a state school on Monday afternoon (15) in São José do Rio Preto (SP).
According to the police report, the victim told the police that the reason for the attack was a rumor that he was speaking badly about another student he did not know. The teenager reported that she was surprised by the attackers when leaving school. The Regional Education Unit says it intervened as soon as it became aware of the situation. The girl also told the police that she was knocked to the ground, kicked and punched by two students. She was then taken to the Emergency Care Unit (UPA), where she said that rib fractures and some injuries were found.
The victim stated that he did not react to the attacks. According to police records, the school management was notified about the case. As the suspects are minors, eventual liability will occur as provided for in the Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA).
The incident was registered at the Flagrant Center as a bodily injury.

What does the school say?
In a statement, the Regional Education Unit (URE) of São José do Rio Preto informed that it repudiates any type of violence related to the school community. According to the agency, the school management team intervened as soon as they became aware of the attack, separating the students involved and forwarding the case to management.
Those responsible for the teenagers were summoned and the unit reported that it had adopted the appropriate measures, including registering a police report and the situation on the Conviva-SP platform.
The agency also stated that a professional from the Psychologists in Schools program will be available to assist the students involved.
