According to police records, the school management was notified about the case. As the suspects are minors, eventual liability will occur as provided for in the Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA). In a statement, the Regional Education Unit (URE) of São José do Rio Preto informed that it repudiates any type of violence related to the school community. According to the agency, the school management team intervened as soon as they became aware of the attack, separating the students involved and forwarding the case to management. Those responsible for the teenagers were summoned and the unit reported that it had adopted the appropriate measures, including registering a police report and the situation on the Conviva-SP platform.
