The decision was taken unanimously by the Fifth Panel of the Court. The ministers analyzed a regulatory appeal presented by the defense against a decision that had already rejected habeas corpus. According to information obtained by Globonews, the defense sought to revoke the preventive detention of Buzeira, who faces charges of money laundering and criminal organization. The investigation also points to an alleged connection between him and members of the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC). In this Tuesday's judgment, the ministers followed the rapporteur's vote and denied the appeal. New complaint The STJ's decision comes a few days after the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) filed a second complaint against Buzeira and four others being investigated as part of Operation Narco Bet. According to the indictment, the group is part of a criminal organization focused on money laundering, currency evasion and concealment of resources through sports betting companies, international operations, offshore structures and transactions with cryptocurrencies. In the complaint, presented to the Federal Court of Santos, the influencer is named by the MPF as an alleged financier, hidden controller and final economic beneficiary of the betting brands BRXBET and RICOBET. The MPF maintains that Buzeira would have direct participation in strategic decisions and in the conduct of operations linked to betting platforms, despite not formally appearing on the companies' corporate tables. The complaint will still be analyzed by the Federal Court. If received, those investigated will become defendants in the process.
