A court ordered the Nigeria Electoral Commission (Inec) on June 15, 2026 to deregister one of the main opposition parties. In a judgment handed down on Monday, the Federal High Court in Abuja ordered Inec to deregister the African Democratic Congress (ADC), as well as four other more minor political parties, for having failed to reach the electoral thresholds required in previous elections to be eligible for the 2027 poll.
