According to the police, the crime was committed after carrying out a scam known as "Good Night, Cinderella", in which the victim is drugged to facilitate the criminal action. According to Security Presente Niterói, the team was called by the manager of a hotel in Itacoatiara after information that two guests were possibly involved in similar crimes. The agents made contact with the Special Tourism Support Delegation (DEAT) and verified that a tourist from Norway had registered a report reporting that he had been the victim of a scam. The police went to the hotel and approached the suspects. After sending images and identification information to DEAT, the victim recognized the two women as participants in the crime, which allegedly occurred on June 13, in Copacabana, during the broadcast of a Brazilian team match. According to the police, the assets recovered and seized have a value of more than R$50,000. The suspects were sent to DEAT, where they were charged with the crimes of robbery and receiving.
