The capital of Rio de Janeiro recorded heavy rain in several neighborhoods this Monday (15). The storm caused the rupture of a water main at the Águas do Rio concessionaire, with a landslide. There are no reports of injuries. Teams from the Conservation Secretariat and the Urban Cleaning Company (Comlurb), from Rio's city hall, are working to free up Estrada da Gávea, at the height of the Red Gate, blocked by the accumulation of water and earth. Skies will be cloudy to overcast with light to moderate rain forecast throughout the period. Winds will be moderate. The minimum temperature will be around 16ºC and the maximum will reach 26ºC. Overcast skies with rain are expected to remain in the city until next Thursday (18). The State Natural Disaster Monitoring and Alert Center (Cemaden-RJ) maintains 24-hour meteorological monitoring, issuing alerts, as a preventive measure, for the population and municipalities.
