The president of the United States stated that he signed the truce agreement that could put an end to the war in Iran. Donald Trump arrived this Monday (15) at the G7 summit, the group of the seven richest democracies in the world.
The American president arrived in Évian, France, with a solution to stop the conflict he himself started. Alongside the host, Donald Trump stated that the agreement, announced on Sunday (14), has already been signed. The signature was electronic. Iran's chief negotiator, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Ghalibaf, also signed.

Trump also said that, as part of the agreement, ships have already begun crossing the Strait of Hormuz, through which, before the war, a fifth of the oil sold in the world passed. According to the American president, by Friday (19), the passage will be fully reopened. Emmanuel Macron said that European countries could send a fleet to remove sea mines and monitor the reopening of the strait.

Until Wednesday (17), the G7 discussions will be held in a hotel in Évian. In addition to official events, leaders also take advantage of the opportunity for important bilateral meetings. Brazil is one of the guest countries of the G7. President Lula had a meeting this Monday (15) with Macron. For now, there is no meeting scheduled between Lula and Trump regarding the threat of new tariffs against Brazil.
Another important issue for the country is the European Union's veto on Brazilian meat. Correspondent Bianca Rothier asked the president of the European Council, the Portuguese António Costa, about expectations for a meeting this Tuesday (16):
"We and Brazil made, within the framework of Mercosur, a major agreement this year, which is now in full effect. Obviously there are health standards that have to be complied with, but the European Commission is in dialogue with Brazil."
But on the G7 horizon, the most urgent concern is whether the agreement with Iran will actually lead to an end to the war. After so many failed negotiations, leaders celebrated cautiously.
